GREEN ENERGY AND AMMONIA
Green Hydrogen Solutions
The Role of RENEWABLES in a Carbon-Free Future
Universal Kraft works with green hydrogen and ammonia production and storage via UH2, the specialized company of the Group. We are currently developing H2 and NH3 projects in Canada, Sweden, Spain, Portugal and Brazil.
In the new era of renewables, hydrogen and ammonia are becoming a green option to fossil fuels.
Why green hydrogen?
In the ongoing energy transition, electrification can carry one part, but hydrogen is, as well, a necessary link to a fully decarbonized society.
Hydrogen is a clean fuel that can be stored and transported safely. The key to reach full capacity in the energy transition is the ability to produce efficiently priced renewable power without the physical restraint of a grid.
Hydrogen offers the opportunity for clean energy to be produced under bankable conditions and freely distributed on a global scale, as traditional energy sources such as oil and gas have been in the past.
We are working on solutions to produce green hydrogen through electrolysis with zero carbon emissions, then store and distribute it so that it can be used to heat buildings, manufacture steel or power fuel cells for trucks and ships.the role of ammonia
We also work with hydrogen derivatives as green ammonia, which can be used as an energy carrier. Today, ammonia is a viable alternative to transport, in addition to its own wide range of applications, notably in fertilisers, with global consumption already reaching 200 million tonnes per year.
With 20 years of experience in the production of green energy, we have the cornerstone to create such a value chain in a decarbonised economy.Catalyzing your investment
In the quest to decarbonize the global economy, heavy industry and transport present significant challenges. We believe that renewable hydrogen and ammonia are a promising source of clean fuel.
